Volunteer as a SubjectThanks for your interest in our study. Please read the following information describing the experiments. If you are interested in scheduling a time to come, email us at motorlab@phy.ucsf.edu. STUDY DETAILS: We are interested in the way that arm reaching movements are planned and executed. In this study, subjects will reach for visual targets presented in a virtual (computer-generated) environment. The study is completely noninvasive, but does involve sitting still for about an hour. The average total length of the session is an hour and fifteen minutes. PAYMENT: The total duration of the experiment tends to vary from subject to subject. Subjects will be paid $10 if the session takes an hour or less, $15 if the session takes between an hour and an hour and a half, $20 if the session lasts 1.5-2 hours, etc. Subjects are paid in cash at the end of the experiment. IMPORTANT: Subjects must have normal or corrected-to-normal (i.e. glasses or contacts are OK) vision to participate, and must have no history of neurological injury (such as stroke) or motor disorders (such as cerebral palsy). Unfortunately, our present experiment can only use right-handed subjects. If you are left-handed, please indicate this fact, and let us know if we may contact you in the future once we start running left-handed subjects. SCHEDULING: To participate, please email us at motorlab@phy.ucsf.edu.
